Cookie policy
The few things militating.com stores in your browser, and why none of them track you.
militating.com only stores what it needs to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through.
What is stored
- Language. A cookie named NEXT_LOCALE remembers the language you chose, so we can send you to the right edition.
- Colour theme. If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is kept in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
- Offline reading. The site installs a service worker that keeps copies of pages you have opened, so they still load without a connection.
- Editors only. People who sign in to our newsroom tools get a login cookie. Readers never do.
Managing them
You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. The site still works; it will just forget your language and theme.
If we ever add analytics or advertising, we will update this page and ask for your consent first. See the privacy policy for more.
